“ Excellent food and absolutely incredible service from the most friendly waitress. The steak and duck fat potatoes were AMAZING. The pork schnitzel was awesome and the cheese sauce was EPIC (carrots were also really really good). Intimate and inviting atmosphere, we were seated in a private room. I highly recommend and would dine here again, hands down! Even my one year old really loved the food haha ”

“ My husband and I had dinner at The Berkshire in Port Elgin & what a nice experience it was. Nothing was rushed and it was nice not being hurried to make up your mind and then not finishing one course before the next course comes. It really was fantastic to be able to sit, relax and enjoy. For our appetizer we shared a Caesar salad (crispy and the dressing was creamy and perfect) and before bringing out the salad we were served a delicious bread with a whipped butter. My husband had the “baseball” steak, homemade fries and glazed carrots. The steak was one of the nicest and best done steaks we’ve experienced in restaurants and my husband said it was very tender. I had the pickerel on a garlicky mashed potatoes with fresh green beans. The pickerel was perfectly done, the greens beans had just enough of a crisp and potatoes were smooth and light. For dessert we shared a creme brulee which came with biscotti,, a small spread of chocolate with fresh whipping cream and we ate every bite of it. Our service was excellent and we couldn’t have asked for a better server. Highly recommend this eating establishment but do not go if you’re in a hurry because they make it all about relaxing and enjoying. ”
“ Had such an amazing dinner here last weekend- from the stellar service to the delicious food. The bone marrow appetizer was next level. My partner never tried marrow before but by the end he was literally drooling over it and fighting me for the last bite. (It also paired nicely with the Sidecar and Whiskey Sour cocktails). The pickerel was melt-in-your-mouth good, had crispy skin and is apparently local and caught fresh every week. The Schnitzel was the best I’ve ever had. It was thin, crispy, a generous portion and it came with roshti which is like a super tasty potato pancake/latke. I will be dreaming of this meal for a long time to come and can’t wait to visit again. The Berkshire is a must if you are ever in the vicinity! ”

“ Wow! I was completely blown away by the beautiful in-house scratch food with elegant tastes and delicate plating. I can honestly say that I have dined all over Ontario and this is really close to the best hidden gem in Ontario. The Berkshire offers a comfortable ambiance with food that absolutely knocked my socks off. The braised pork shoulder with a delicate apple cabbage slaw, and spetzle on the side was soooo yummy. The pork shoulder was melt in your mouth, and I couldn't get enough ... until ... I heard that homemade sticky toffee pudding with home churned vanilla ice cream, were on the menu. So yes, I indulged! And, it was gorgeous caramel delish! Oh wait, let me not forget about the Caesar Salad, with its bold punch of gaaaaarlic! I loved it. “ Absolutely delightful birthday dinner! My husband and I shared the calamari and Caesar salad, then he had schnitzel and I had the beer braised pork shoulder. We shared a bottle of wine and then creme brule for several. Everything was beautifully plated and beyond delicious! Our so was happy I couldn't finish my meal when he dove into the take-out box heb we got home, and declared the pork the best he has ever tasted. The service was wonderful and we look forward to our next visit. ”
“ we were fortunate to get a seat without a reservation. staff were excellent, offered suggestions. would have liked to try the mushroom special. looked delicious- unfortunately I have a dairy allergy. food was delicious, servings were decent size too. haven't been here since the new owner took over. glad we were able to get seated. worthwhile checking this place out. will be back ”
